Well, hello there, folks.

You can call me Selene18. I am a 29 year old hellish entity. I am Venezuelan (yes, I do come from the HOT southern lands, mwehehehe) and I love learning foreign languages and of course, reaping flamers, plagiarists and trolls, who are nothing than a disgrace to any fandom and the world in general.

a- Official job: Modern languages graduate, soon-to-be-working translator. Feel free to speak me either in Spanish (native tongue), English or French.

b- Adores (): foreign languages, yaoi, amusement parks (especially thrill and extremes rides *0*), RPG by msn/forums, drawing/writing hardcore arts/fics and watching Saint Seiya.

c- Hates to death () : Homophobes, rabid yaoi/yuri/hentai fanboys/girls, rabid anti-yaoi, children, cocky brats, flamers (regardless if they draw/write better than me, a flamer is a flamer!), puritans, art thieves, plagiarists, intolerants, tyrants, happy-go-reporters, bastards, bullies, evil-minded stalkers, fake-critics, liars. I also hate MPREG, shotakon and hetero stuff (especially fluffy hetero -it causes me tooth decay- ¬¬ )

2 things to take into account in order to get along peacefully:

1- If you want to give me constructive criticism, go for it, but in a nice way and always with the will of helping, not for the sake of trying to degrade me or my works or looking down upon me. In the first case, I will love you to bits, but in the other case, I will put you in your rightful place and then block you off my sight… please, help me avoiding this by just being nice… I’ll appreciate it a lot!

2- Don’t slam your preferences on me! I hate that to death! I will respect yours even if I don’t share them, and I expect you to do the same with me! Also, please, when I tell you that I don’t like something, DON’T question nor harass me! Otherwise consider yourself ignored! I’m in no mood to be quarrelling, seriously.

The FAQ of doom!

1- What’s the origin of your nickname?

Well, firstly, I used to call myself Selene18. Whilst browsing some Sailor Moon sites, I saw the name “Selene” and I loved it, so I nicknamed myself as such. The “18” thingie is because at the age of 18 I learnt to handle a computer and discovered the vast world of Internet. Yes, a little too old (compared to the ones who handle a PC since they tender childhood) but as I always say, better late than never. Later on I adopted “Selene18 Darkside & Zuster”. Both “Darkside” and “Zuster” come from “clans” I joined along with some friends of mine. On a side note as well, “Zuster” means “sister” in Dutch.

2- What’s your drawing and colouring style?

My colouring style is anime cellshading, a style I always yearned to learn. My drawing style, on the other hand, it’s hard to define. Could be anime, could be a little American. Could be a little of both… or it could be something completely different! However I can’t deny I still have traces of my ancient Saint Seiya influence.

3- What software do you use to draw?

I use three: Manga Studio for sketching (whilst on PC) and inking; SAI for colouring and Photoshop CS5 for retouching and adding special effects. On the traditional side, I sketch with pencil and ink & colour with my fabulous copics.

4- What inspires you to draw?

Could be anything.

5- Do you trace?

NO! I’d never do such lousy thing in my life! I drew almost all my life and always did it freehanded. I never needed to rely too much on outer sources, unless for inspiration or references (if the pose is way too complicated).

6- Don’t you do commissions?

Yes, I do. Please look here or in my "Donate" box above, on which I have posted prices and samples of my works.


7- What languages do you speak?

Spanish is my mother tongue (I am Venezuelan) but I also speak English and French. Feel free to speak me in any of these languages.

8- What do you love to draw?

I adore drawing yaoi and men. I do draw women from times to times to keep my skills sharp, though. But don’t expect me to always draw hetero, hentai or ecchi stuff. It’s just not my thing.

9- Your men look way too exotic… what are they?

They belong mainly to two original projects of mine: Magic City and Royal Flush. The first one is about “gijinkas” amusement rides and main specie is called “humanoid”. The second one is about fantasy elves called “klownys” and their races are based on playing card designs (spades, clovers, diamonds, Jokers and hearts).

10- You seldom draw humans. Why is that?

I prefer fantasy and exotic races. It would be a little boring for me if I always drew humans. However I do have a few OC’s and fanarts featuring humans ^_^

11- What anime series do you love?

I used to be a Saint Seiya fan, but not anymore. I enjoy doing occasional fanarts but I’m not in the fandom anymore. On the other hand, I enjoy other series such as Sailor Moon, Yakikate Japan, DragonBall Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Saber Marionette, among others. I’m not thaaaaat anime fan, but I still enjoy it.
